Finding a Quality Camera is Key

Camera

My first platform for my brand was YouTube. I started off using a camcorder I found in my parent’s closet. It was very ā€œold-schoolā€, but it was my first video and I was ready to start. After I put out a few videos I wanted to improve my video quality. The first camera I purchased was a Canon EOS Rebel T5 Digital SLR Camera. I enjoyed using this camera however, it wasn’t a good choice for a beginner. It didn’t have auto-focus and had a lot of features I didn’t understand.

After a huge struggle of trying to understand the Canon EOS Rebel T5, I decided to return it and purchase a Sony a5000. It had superb video quality and it took great quality photos. I ended up dropping the camera and breaking it, which lead me to purchase the Sony a5100.

The Sony a5100 is a step above the Sony a5000. I love the features of this camera and it is great for beginners. Some of the features I love include:

  • Autofocus
  • Face Detection
  • Integrated Flash
  • Touch Screen
  • Wi-Fi Capabilities
  • Mirrorless

Currently, I use this camera mostly for recording video content. The video settings are very easy to understand. I know it can be very useful for photography, but I definitely need to educate myself on how to shoot photos with this camera. The only downfall that I find with the Sony a5100 is that if you are recording for a long period of time, it can overheat, which requires it to turn off. Other than that, I think it is a great tech tool for creating blogging content.

iPhone

I have an iPhone 10 XR. I mostly use my iPhone to capture stunning photos and create video content for my blog and Instagram.

Lighting

In order to have quality video or photo content, you need good lighting. I recently invested in affordable lighting for my content. I purchased the Neewer 18-inch SMD LED Ring Light Dimmable Lighting Kit. It has leveled up the quality of my content. I highly suggest investing in good lighting and you will see amazing changes in your content. I also recently purchased HPUSN Softbox Lighting Kit. The kit came with two softbox lights. It adds even more quality, especially when I choose to record at night.

I love that this tripod can extend from 28″ to 72″. It has a built-in handle for easy transport and 180-degree tilt range to capture a picture from different angles. It is also lightweight but durable. If you are looking for a guide to take stunning photos with your iPhone, then check out this free Ultimate Guide in Taking Stunning Photos Using your iPhone.

Smartphone Tripod Mount

Since I take pictures with my iPhone, I needed a smartphone tripod mount. I purchased one from Amazon, and it was compatible with my iPhone XR. This mount is very useful because has the ability to do 360-degree rotation, so you can take pictures vertically or horizontally. This mount also came with a BlueTooth remote, which is really convenient when taking pictures by yourself. It is small enough to hide or throw in your pocket while taking pictures.

SD Card

Adequate storage for your digital content is a must-have. To store my video content I use the SanDisk Ultra 64 GB Micro SD, Class 10. This card gives me the ability to shoot Full HD videos seamlessly and my content can be transferred blazingly fast.

Macbook Air

MacBook Air

My MacBook Air is by far the best purchase and investment I’ve made for my brand. This tech tool has taken my blogger abilities to another level. I specifically love the editing software and how creative I can be with this tech tool. It is lightweight and compact, so it’s easy to transport. Its processing time is way quicker than my previous computer, which was a PC. It was a little pricey, but I don’t regret it at all.

Final Cut ProX

Final Cut Pro X is editing software only available to MAC users. I absolutely love this editing software. It can be intimidating, but once you learn the tips and tricks, editing is a breeze!
