Blogging Goals Recap: Did I Meet my Goals?

by | Jul 31, 2020 | Blogging Tips

It is the last day of July, and also the end of the Blogging Challenge, hosted by the well known influencer, Mattie James. I wanted to do a recap and give an update on if I succeeded and reached my blogging goals for July. I wrote a blog post in the beginning of July, outlining what I hoped to accomplish for the month. Here were my 5 goals for the month:

  • Complete The Mattie James Consistency Challenge, which includes publishing one blog post daily, Monday – Friday, starting on July 6th.
  • Utilize Pinterest to promote my blog and instagram. This includes placing all previously published content on Pinterest.
  • Increase my Email List by 30%.
  • Daily Promotion. Often times I don’t want to sound to pushy, so I hold back on promoting my blog. This month I plan to promote it daily on the social media platform of choice.
  • Create my free masterclass! Stay tuned for that!

So the question is did I reach my goals? Lets look at them one-by-one!

GOAL 1: THE CONSISTENCY CHALLENGE

I am proud to say that I reached this goal! I have written TWENTY blog posts in the month of July! It was a very difficult task, especially with two kids–lol. But honey, I showed up and showed out every day on my blog! What this consistency challenge has taught me is that, if you are determined to do something, then you will get it done. There were many days and nights I didn’t feel like writing or even looking at social media, but I pushed through those days and kept focus on my main goal. I batched my blog posts and came up with a system were I could balance blogging everyday and being a mom! This challenge definetly strengthened my blogging muscle and I feel more confident now than ever as a blogger.

GOAL 2: UTILIZE PINTEREST

I grew my Pinterest views by 400 extra views this month. I wanted to place all my previous content on my Pinterest, but I didn’t quite succeed at that. I will say that I was more present on my Pinterest account this month. For August, I plan to make Pinterest a top priority! Many people say Pinterest is one of the best platforms to drive views to your blog, so I definitely want to focus on Pinterest.

GOAL 3: GROW MY EMAIL LIST

One of my blogging goals was to increase my email list by 30%. I am happy to say I did meet this goal! I actually grew it a little over 30% and I plan to continue to focus on creating lead magnets to get more subscribers! So stay tuned for that!

GOAL 4: PROMOTING MY BLOG

Originally, this blogging goal was meant to be daily promotion. For the most part I think I promoted my blog more than I have ever done. I definitely learned how to be creative with my instagram and drive more traffic to my blog. My blogging views increased by 142% this month, so I can say you will see results from promoting your blog. Like I mentioned before, there were just some days that I didn’t feel like getting on social media, so on those days I didn’t promote it.

GOAL 5: CREATE A MASTERCLASS

This goal has been on my to-do list since April, yes I know we are in July! I have been putting it off, but once I wrote down this goal and put it in the atmosphere, I made sure to make it happen. I created the Masterclass and it will be available soon for you to see! I actually just did a mock run of it with some of my fellow content creators. They really enjoyed it and gave me some amazing feedback. Now I just have to finalize some things and it will be available to you! I’m super excited about it that!

So all-in-all I reached my blogging goals for July. One thing I did notice, is once I made my blog a top priority my viewers, and blog views increased. Even though the Blogging Challenge is over, I will continue to show up and show out on my blog!

What are some of the goals you reached this month? I’d love to hear so share with me in the comments!
