When it comes to keeping my type-4 natural hair free from product buildup I tend to go for my favorite shampoos. I look for a shampoo that cleanses, moisturizes, and softens my very kinky natural hair. Today, I’m giving you my top 5 favorite shampoos that you should absolutely have in your natural hair stash!

Curls

Curls Cashmere and Caviar Hair Bath

This shampoo really surprised me with its color. It is BLACK! Their hair bath gently cleanses with active charcoal and it has cashmere and caviar extract which aids with conditioning the hair. This shampoo literally felt like a bubble bath in my hair, as it lathers really quickly. It also gets my hair squeaky clean and removes all the yucky build up after one use. This shampoo gives me a salon experience every time I use it. You need this in your stash!

Mielle Organics

Mielle Organics: Babassu Shampoo

You definitely need this shampoo in your natural hair stash. This is has been in my stash for quite sometime. This shampoo cleanses the hair really well. To me it feels more like a clarifying shampoo, but is very gentle. My hair feels soft after washing. The minty tingling sensation feels great on the scalp. This shampoo is a must-have! You won’t be disappointed!

Camile Rose

Camille Rose: Lavender Fresh Cleanse

I absolutely love the way this shampoo smells and feels on the scalp. When applying this shampoo, you do have to apply a generous amount to get a good lather. There is a nice cooling sensation on the scalp. It feels very soothing. This shampoo is very gentle and has great slip, which is surprising for a shampoo. The product claims to detangle and moisturize and it does just that!

Mielle Organics

Mielle Organics: Rosmary Mint Shampoo

Most of Mielle’s product have a nice tingling sensation. This shampoo is no different. It is a strengthening shampoo and is infused with Biotin, which promotes hair growth. This shampoo has a rosemary minty smell and is very gentle. This shampoo doesn’t feel like Mielle Organics shampoo I mentioned earlier. Its more creamier in texture and I tend to go for this one, when I don’t have too much product build up.

Shea Moisture

Shea Moisture JBCO Stregthen & Restore Shampoo

I have used this shampoo since the beginning of my natural hair journey. I love anything with Jamaican Black Castor Oil. This shampoo is a clarifying shampoo that gently removes product build up and leaves my curls defined and poppin’. You definitely need this shampoo in your stash!
